The Legend of the Circle of Friends

Since the beginning of time, friendship has been the most important relation that people have experienced. According to the Native American legend, people used to gather around a new fire to celebrate peace and brotherhood among tribes. The legend says that if you give a "Circle of Friends" to a person you care for, your bonds of friendship will endure forever.

Laura and Steve’s Legend of the Ladybugs

Love is the most important relationship that Laura and Steve experience. As they gathered together one beautiful day to celebrate that love, they were swarmed by ladybugs. Dozens and dozens of ladybugs swirled and flew, landed and twirled. The magic of that moment brought peace, joy, healing, and renewed love and commitment.

Their legend tells us that if you see a ladybug, think of a person you love and what you need to strengthen your bonds of love so they will endure forever.

In the spirit of that moment and so all of us will remember the importance of renewal and love, these ladybugs are released to touch all of us.

Kathy released symbolic ladybugs at our vow renewal ceremony in July 2000 (aided and abetted by Big Mike). She also presented us with a "circle of friends" candle which we treasure. As inspired as her words were, the loving spirit in which they were delivered was truly the gift.
